Agatha Christe

Born Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller 1890, in Torquay Devon, the youngest of three children.
Agatha wrote over 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, which have sold over a billion copies worldwide. Her most famous characters include the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and the unassuming amateur, Miss Marple.
Christie began writing during World War I, and her accuracy in describing poisons, was based on her experience as a nurse and in a pharmacy.

Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was published in 1920.
