 Whilst taking a break from lecturing and writing, a young Oxford mathematician visited Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight in the 1860's.
Nothing out of the ordinary there you might think.
However, this young chap was a bit of an enigma.
And so were the people that he met there.
His pen name was Lewis Carroll, and his pen was used as a sword that struck secretive blows, first plucking its prey and then transforming them often grotesquely into the characters now known and loved by generations of 'Alice' readers...
