A scarce second revised edition of this Greek-English dictionary, in decorative leather binding.
Based on the previous German-Greek work of Francis Passow, this extensive, detailed volume provides essential reference material for any Greek to English translations. Liddell and Scott's work is considered a standard text of its type and has been used by students of Greek from its first publication to the present day.
Henry Liddell was Dean of Oxford, and father to the real 'Alice in Wonderland' at the time when Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) was an Oxford Don.
In decorative morocco binding with gilt detailing. Expertly re-bound, there is now little wear to the boards, joints, extremities and backstrip which was cracked. Internally, the pages are firmly bound, and are generally bright and clean throughout, although there is foxing to endpages and some markings to several others. There is also an inscription that has been rubbed out. Overall: VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS.
